Psychology of Propaganda leading to Hysteria (Part 1)

Weaponized social engineering of the masses at large

Opinion/ Critical Thinking Exercise written by: Jeffery O’Neal

“People think that a liar gains a victory over his victim. What I’ve learned is that a lie is an act of self-abdication, because one surrenders one’s reality to the person to whom one lies, making that person one’s master, condemning oneself from then on to faking the sort of reality that person’s view requires to be faked…The man who lies to the world, is the world’s slave from then on…There are no white lies, there is only the blackest of destruction, and a white lie is the blackest of all.”

― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

Lately it has become more disturbing the rise of self-indulgence against reason, logic, or facts and the truth itself. It’s disturbing to witness what seems to be a mass psychosis.

Definition:

(a mass psychosis is an epidemic of madness, and it occurs when a large portion of a society loses touch with reality and descends into delusions. Such a phenomenon is not a thing of fiction. Two examples of mass psychoses are the American and European witch hunts of the 16th and 17th centuries and the rise of totalitarianism in the 20th century.) –

For example, you are walking on a sidewalk and approaching a group gathered for some reason. A common-sense reasonable course of action that you would expect from the group. Is to make room for you to walk peaceable through. Instead, the crowd become incensed by your presents and begins yelling at you. Hurling insults and making threats to harm you if you don’t leave immediately. A commonsense reasonable course of action at minimal; would be what you or anyone would hope to expect. Yet this example, is becoming far to common, acceptable, and normal. There seems to be a correlation between this style of behavior and another rising trend in society.

Every day, every hour, every minute; it seems we receive a deluge of something we perceive as stupid or idiotic. One of these trends that is really disturbing to me, and I’ve dubbed it, “Self-Imposed Social Resumes.” These social resumes are often gargantuan in scope, detailing every painstaking, minuscule detail of how a person identifies them self to others. But also, how others must accept, comply, or else?
